The agreement between you and us — and, more importantly, the limits of what this site is for.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and RigFloorHQ, 483 Chaiyaphruek 3 Alley, Muang Pattaya, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150, Thailand ("we", "us"), and govern your use of rigfloorhq.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.
Reference material, not operational instruction
Well control and rig floor work are safety-critical. Decisions must be made under your employer's approved procedures, the applicable regulatory requirements, the specific well programme, and the direction of your certified well control supervisor and competent supervision on site. Where anything on this site differs from those, those govern and this site does not.
Reading this site does not make anyone competent to perform a task. Formal competence comes from accredited training and assessment — for example IWCF or IADC WellSharp certification for well control — together with supervised experience. We do not assess anyone, and we issue no certification of any kind.
The calculators
The Service includes calculators covering hydrostatic pressure, kill sheets and mud weight windows. They exist so people can learn how the arithmetic works and check their understanding while studying. They run in your browser, we never see what you enter, and we never see what they output.
Any figure produced by a calculator on this site is an illustration. You are responsible for verifying every number you rely on, by an approved method.
Accuracy and currency
We take care to describe standards, practices and equipment accurately, but standards are revised, regulations change and practice varies between operators, contractors and jurisdictions. Where we reference a standard or regulation, always work from the current published version rather than our summary of it. We do not warrant that any part of the Service is complete, current or free from error.
Career, pay and certification information is general and indicative. Rates and requirements vary by region, employer, contract and market conditions.
Translations
Much of the Service, including these terms, is published in Spanish for convenience. The English version is the original. Where a translation and the English differ in meaning, the English version prevails.
Your use of our content
The content on this Service was researched, written, compiled and arranged by us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We provide it for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not use, or authorise anyone else to use, the Service or its content in any manner that acts as a substitute for it, competes with it, or affects our ability to operate it. These restrictions apply equally to robots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, automated collection of any kind, and to the bulk reproduction of our material for training or republication. You agree not to bypass measures used to limit automated access, and to respect the directives in our robots.txt.
You may quote short extracts for comment, review, teaching or news reporting, provided you credit RigFloorHQ and link to the page you took them from. If you want to use something more substantially — in a training pack, for instance — email us and we will usually say yes.
Third-party links
The Service links to third-party sites, standards bodies and training providers. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or accuracy, and a link is not an endorsement. Following an external link is at your own risk.
Availability
We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or continuously available, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness or fitness for purpose of the Service and its content.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury or cost arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service — including any operational decision, any calculation, any well control action, any equipment or procedure choice, and any career or financial decision. Reliance on this material in an operational setting is at your own risk and, where you are at work, remains subject to your employer's procedures and supervision.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect — very little — and our Cookie Policy explains why there is no cookie banner. Both form part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date shown above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer rights available under the law of the country where you live.
